JIS Construction Project Involves 3,000 Local Workers

The construction progress of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), which is targeted for completion in March 2022, has reached 96.45 percent.

So, it's really a collaborative project

JIS Project Manager, Arry Wibowo said its construction involved 3,000 workers from the first week of this project running until now. The majority of them were recruited from the construction or infrastructure sector, because of complex structural work projects.

"They are spread across several job categories. They all have its specialties," he expressed, Wednesday (2/16).

To recruit them, he was previously cooperating with Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy (Nakertransgi) to offer job vacancies to locals to be involved in the JIS project. Then the urban village carried out verification and submitted the workers' data to the contractor for selection.

"We explore some of the potential and aspirations of locals. Besides involving in construction work, we also recruit for security and canteen workers," he explained.

According to him, this project caused a domino effect that supports efforts to improve the economy during the pandemic.

"So, it's really a collaborative project," he stated.
