Central Jakarta to Present Islamic Musical Performance at Gebyar Ramadan Event

The Central Jakarta Culture Sub-agency will support Islamic musical performance at the Gebyar Ramadan event which is held in three different locations from April 11 to 24, 2022.

Central Jakarta Culture Sub-agency Head Mochamad Nurdin said that his side would support the Islamic musical performance at Gebyar Ramadan and Forum Pembauran Kebangsaan Bazaar events from April 16 to 17, Gebyar Ramadan at Lapangan Banteng from April 11 to 24, and Gebyar Ramadan at Taman Ismail Marzuki from April 13 to 14.

According to him, Islamic musical training such as hadroh, marawis, and qosidah has been carried out since March thus his side could perform in those three events.

"It is one of our supports to residents who are pursuing Islamic music. We have also distributed 250 Islamic musical instruments last year," he conveyed, Tuesday (4/12).

His side also supported the events by showing the Kembang Kemayoran dance which was recently launched by Mayor Dhany Sukma as a traditional dance from Central Jakarta.

Participants who took part in the Islamic musical performance and Kembang Kemayoran dance were teenagers, artists, and students from Central Jakarta.

"They have registered online or from local urban villages. Approximately, 50 participants will perform later," he mentioned.

In June, his side planned to reopen training on Islamic music and Kembang Kemayoran dance.

"Training will be opened in 50 public spaces in Central Jakarta," he stated.
