Tax Delinquent, Minimart in Melawai Marked

A minimart on Jalan Wolter Mongonsidi No. 2A, Melawai Urban Village, Kebayoran Baru Sub-District, West Jakarta, is affixed with a warning sticker that indicates the owner has not paid off the land and building tax (PBB).

The minimart owner has yet to pay land and building tax since 2011, thus his arrears reached Rp 172.4 million

“The minimart owner has yet to pay land and building tax since 2011, thus his arrears reached Rp 172.4 million. The owner said would pay off the arrears, but did not show up after we waited for an hour. That’s why we give warning through sticker,” stated Head of Kebayoran Baru Sub-District Tax Services Unit (UPPD), Edy Soemantri, Thursday (12/11).

While on Jalan Terusan Rasuna Said, Mampang Prapatan, a tax delinquent board was installed on a 700-square-meter land because its owner is in arrears for 17 years. According to Head of Mampang Prapatan Sub-District UPPD, Dedyanto, the arrear reaches Rp 749,698,225.

“Plus with sanction as much as Rp 290,434,055, the landowner’s debt becomes Rp 1,040,132,280,” he told.

Meanwhile, Head of South Jakarta Tax Service I Office, WP Purba, asserted that his party will act decisively against tax delinquents, especially who related to PBB payment because socialization has been done multiple times.

“We’ve done socialization and gave a quite long grace period for PBB payment. But since there was no response, we installed warning board,” he uttered.

Purba explained that such a thing is in accordance with Governor Instruction No. 89/2013 on Tax. If within seven days tax delinquents have not paid their arrears, distress warrant will be issued.
