Four Tents Set Up for Gembrong Market Fire Victims

Three tents from East Jakarta Social Sub-agency and one tent from Jakarta BPBD have been set up under Becakayu Toll Road to temporarily accommodate fire victims due to the fire which occurred in Gembrong Market Area, Jalan Basuki Rahmat, RW 01, Cipinang Besar Utara Urban Village, Jatinegara Sub-district.

East Jakarta Social Sub-agency Head Purwono conveyed that his side had set up three tents since 4 AM. Those tents would be available until next week but if fire victims still needed them, his side could extend the period.

Cipinang Besar Utara Urban Village Head Evi Erawati would coordinate with related units thus other assistance would be immediately sent to fire victims.
Since morning, fire victims had been receiving food and beverages from East Jakarta Social Sub-agency, and Jakarta KNPI and other volunteers had arrived at the location to assist the victims.
Her side would coordinate with the East Jakarta Public Housing and Settlement Sub-agency thus fire victims could be accommodated temporarily in existing flats thus they wouldn't celebrate Eid in evacuation tents.
Her side would also coordinate with East Jakarta Environment (LH) Sub-agency to prepare toilet trucks at the fire location.
"Currently, they use toilets in the prayer room and other residents' houses. But it is still not enough because of the large number of fire victims," she asserted.
