Pilgrims Flock to Religious Tourism on Panjang Island

The religious tourist site on Panjang Island, Kelapa Island Village, North Seribu Islands Sub-district is crowded with pilgrims.

This visit indicates that the religious tourism built by the Seribu Islands Regency is getting attention

Kelapa Island Urban Village Secretary Muslim expressed that the religious tourist site on Panjang Island, which contains the Sultan Maulana Mahmud Zakaria's Tomb, received visits from hundreds of students from the Al Fatih Kaffah Nusantara Islamic Boarding School (AFKN), Thursday (5/12). The visit from the santri (students of Islamic boarding schools) is expected to be a trigger for the visit of the santri or other tourists.

"This visit indicates that the religious tourism built by the Seribu Islands Regency is getting attention. Considering that previously there were also many pilgrims visited the Sultan Maulana Mahmud Zakaria's Tomb this evening after the Eid al-Fitr," he expressed, Friday (5/13).

People Flock to Public Cemeteries Before Start of Ramadan

Aside that, the site also has a mosque equipped with ablution facilities and toilets. It was expected to further develop religious tourism sites on Panjang Island. There was also a connecting road from the pier to the mosque.

"InsyaAllah, this religious tourism can attract the attention of visitors to get to know the history of Islam in Seribu Islands region," he hoped.
