Dozens of Bikers Recklessly Pass on Jalan MH Thamrin

Dozens of bikers are still recklessly passing on Jalan MH Thamrin, precisely starting from HI Roundabout until Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat. They reasoned have not known yet about the motorcycles ban policy which officially trialed today, despite tens of personnel from City Police, Jakarta Transportation Department, and Satpol PP have guarded.

“I didn’t know the rule, that’s why I pass this road as usual. I ask this rule to be canceled because I pass this road every day to go and return from my office at Gunung Sahari,” said Latif (32), one of the bikers when met at HI Roundabout, Wednesday (12/17).

According to City Police Traffic Director Sr. Comr. Restu MB, this morning as many as 10-15 bikers were caught passing on Jalan MH Thamrin.

Motorcycle Ban Applied, 5 Double-Decker Buses Yet Operated

“We sent 500 personnel to escort this motorcycle ban trial and socialization. The law enforcement against bikers who pass on the motorcycle-free lanes at HI Roundabout until Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat begins to be applied on January 17, 2015,” he stated.
