1,782 Policemen to Secure Christmas Celebrations in West Jakarta

As many as 1,782 joint personnel will be deployed to secure Christmas celebrations in West Jakarta. The security is focused on 208 churches that spread in eight sub-districts.

The security of 208 churches will begin four days before Christmas

West Jakarta Metro Resort Police Chief Sr. Comr. Fadil Imran disclosed that besides policemen, the personnel involved also include Satpol PP, army, local transportation sub-department as well as fire and disaster handling sub-department, and state electricity company (PLN).

“All personnel will be spread to secure the church. For big churches, the security will be tightened because of large congregations,” he stated, Wednesday (12/17).

4,000 Police Deployed to Secure Christmas and New Year's Eve

Big churches in West Jakarta are Maria Bunda Karmel Church in Kebon Jeruk Sub-District, Bethel Indonesia Church in Cengkareng Sub-District, and Kristus Yesus Mangga Besar Church in Taman Sari Sub-District.

“The security of 208 churches will begin four days before Christmas. We do this to create conducive situation in West Jakarta. If the congregations saw suspicious things, report it immediately,” asserted Imran.
