Approaching Christmas and New Year, Train Tickets Almost Sold Out

Ahead of Christmas and 2015 New Year holiday, economy train class tickets for departure on upcoming December 20-31 are already sold up to 80 percent. As for the executive train tickets, they have been sold for 50 percent and business class sold up to 45 percent.

According to the data, 162,936 seats are sold out for departure on upcoming December 20-31

“According to the data, 162,936 seats are sold out for departure on upcoming December 20-31. The train tickets sold are for destinations to cities in Central Java, such as Purwokerto, Solo, Yogyakarta, and Kutoharjo,” stated PT KAI Daops I spokesman Agus Komarudin, Saturday (11/1).

According to Komarudin, for all train classes PT KAI provided 55 regular trains every day to West Java, Central Java, East Java, and Yogyakarta. For economy train class there are 13,578 seats are provided every day, as well as 8,400 seats for executive train class and 4,500 seats for business class. Thus far, PT KAI has not prepared additional tickets although they might add more train carriages.

Easter, Train Tickets Sold Out

“We’ll see whether there is demand for additional tickets or not. If there were, we must prepare for the facilities first. Now, the passengers can purchase ticket via online, so it is easier to monitor,” he uttered.

In addition, Komarudin informed that to buy train tickets one does not need to come to the station. This is because train tickets can now be purchased in the nearest minimarts, via online, KAI Access, or parties that are cooperated with PT KAI.
