Tens of residents seemed enthusiastic about participating in the fire socialization which was demonstrated by officers from South Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-agency's Fire Prevention Section and Kebayoran Lama Fire Post.
South Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-agency's Fire Prevention Section Head Sutaka mentioned that fire socialization aimed to educate residents in several locations across 10 sub-districts.
"This year, we will visit 60 RWs in 10 sub-districts throughout South Jakarta to socialize with residents about fire prevention," he explained, Thursday (5/26).
On this occasion, he explained the dangers of fire caused by short circuits and gas stoves that could occur due to human negligence.
"We also provide training to extinguish the fire using a light fire extinguisher (APAR), wet sacks, and others to anticipate fire from getting bigger before firefighters arrive at the fire location," he said.
Furthermore, he would also establish a multi-story building fire safety management (MMKG) 2022 in South Jakarta.
"MMKG is established to ensure security and safety system, as well as to educate them about the steps that must be taken when a fire occurs in the building," he stated.
