Flyovers to Be Built above Permata Hijau and Kuningan Railway Crossings

Jakarta Provincial Government is about to build two flyovers above Permata Hijau and Kuningan railway crossings. This project is to parse traffic congestion in Jakarta.

The (physical) construction is predicted started early next year, so the flyovers could be operated by December 2015

“The auction process of this project has finished and the auction winners are currently making the flyovers’ designs. The (physical) construction is predicted started early next year, so the flyovers could be operated by December 2015,” stated Head of Jakarta Public Works Department, Agus Priyono, Friday (12/19).

According to Priyono, flyover construction above Permata Hijau railway crossing is in line with the additional of commuter line train trips. The flyover itself will pass through commuter line train routes of Tanah Abang-Serpong-Parung Panjang and Jakarta-Merak train.

TransJakarta Corridor XIII Flyover Physical Construction Starts April 2015

“High volume of passing trains is directly proportional with vehicle volume. So, when a train passed and the railway crossing closed, vehicles’ queue becomes long,” he uttered.

Permata Hijau Flyover will have a length of 544 meters with width 10 meters. Its construction is carried out by PT Lampiri Djaya Abadi, PT Multi Structure, and PT Brantas Abispraya.

As for the Kuningan Flyover, it will stretch above Kuningan intersection on Jalan Gatot Subroto, precisely from Pancoran towards Semanggi. It is built to minimize the density of vehicles from Semanggi and Jalan Rasuna Said towards Mampang Prapatan and vice versa. The flyover will have a length of 680 meters with width 5.1 meters. Its construction is done by PT Nindya Karya.

Unfortunately, Priyono did not mention the budget spent to build these flyovers.
