Flyover Construction Constrained by Residents’ Buildings

The construction of flyover that connects Jalan Boulevard Timur with Jalan Pegangsaan Dua since two months ago is contrained due to the existence of tens of residents’ houses at RT 05/02, Pegangsaan Dua Urban Village, Kelapa Gading Sub-District, North Jakarta. This condition triggers complaints from the locals because the constrained project causes traffic congestion in the area.

For information, the flyover construction project is constrained by the existence of 34 residents’ houses stood on a land as wide as land 4,000 square meters. The land is actually had been acquisitioned by Jakarta Public Works Department and the land payment was done in 2010 to the landowner. But since there is still no agreement between the landowner and the people occupying the land on building compensation, the flyover construction project becomes stalled.
“Indeed, the land has been paid since 2010 to the landowner. Compensation had been offered to the building owners, but they have not accepted it yet because they are still asking for compensation to the landowner,” uttered North Jakarta Administration Secretary, Junaedi, Saturday (11/15).

“The last information I got from the Public Works Department is that 30 households have agreed to receive compensation. The process will start next week and the (flyover) construction can be continued,” he said.
