Next Year, 18 Digital TV Channels Ready to Airs

On early 2015, a total of 18 digital television channels will broadcast in Jabodetabek area. The emergence of dozens new digital television will provide more atmosphere in audio-visual broadcasting world.

As many as 18 LPS have received principle permission from the process

The 18 digital channels are TV Betawi, Republika TV, KTI, News TV, Gramedia TV, Warna TV, Tempo TV, SportOne, BNTV, Detik TV, Magna Teve, City TV, JPTV Jakarta, Smile TV, RIM TV, Nusantara TV, and TVMU.

The Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPID) Head of Jakarta Branch, Adil Quarta Anggoro, said his party has served many requests from private broadcasters (LPS) of digital television during 2014.

"As many as 18 LPS have received principle permission from the process," said Adil Quarta Anggoro, accompanied by KPID Commissioner Ubaidillah and Muhammad Sulhi, in his office on Jalan Suryopranoto, Central Jakarta, Friday (19/12).

M Sulhi said, the increase of digital TV broadcasting also improves the city KPID supervision tasks.

"We have to add devices and human resources because we have not been able to watch 24 hours nonstop so far. The Supervision is limited during 8 AM - 9 PM which is divided into two shifts," he explained.

Anggoro added, the major offense which still held by old television shows are about violence, sexual, and advertising. "Later, Kemenkominfo has set a maximum of 20 percent ad portion of the broadcast volume. This is adhered by the LPS too," he added.
