Kota Tua Tour Next Week, Register Here!

The Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy (Parekraf) Agency collaborated with the Indonesian Historia Community (KHI) are about to host the Jakarta Heritage Trails: Kota Tua (Old Town) Tour with the theme 'City of Benteng Batavia' on June 25, 2022.

It aims to commemorate Jakarta's 495th anniversary, which falls on June 22, 2022.

Marketing and Attraction Division Head Hari Wibowo said the tour would invite participants to explore the Kota Tua area which is a silent witness to the history of the birth of Jakarta city.

Jakarta Tour Gears Up to Enliven Jakarta Hajatan

It would reveal the dark history of Jakarta, formerly known as the Fort City of Batavia.

"We have a Historian Asep Kambali to accompany participants during the tour. Besides getting to know more about the Kota Tua area, it will also improve historical knowledge, experience, and friendship," he explained, Monday (6/13).

He explained each participant would be charged Rp 100,000 per pack.

To join it, residents can immediately register via Whatsapp with the format [WKTJ-BATAVIA/Full Name/WhatsApp Number/Number of Participants who will be participating], and send it to 0818 0807 3636.

Here are historical sites will be visited on the Jakarta Heritage Trails:

- Stadhuisplein and Trem Batavia

- Batavia Fort Wall

- De Groote Kanaal and Geger Pecinan

- Jasa Rahardja Building

- VOC Headquarters in Asia

- BEOS Stations and Tunnels

- De Javasche Bank Building

- Raad van Justitie Building

The facilities available include:
