Jakarta reported a daily high in coronavirus infections in the last few weeks.

The latest data shows an increasing trend of positive cases occurring in all age groups

Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Prevention and Control Division Head Dwi Oktavia Tatri Lestari stated that consecutively in the last four weeks, the number of active cases in Jakarta today increased by 782 cases, bringing the number of active cases to 616 (people who are still being treated/isolated), then 1,165 cases, and finally touched 1,940 cases. The positive percentage of PCR test results also increased from 1.3% to 4.6% in the past week.

"The latest data shows an increasing trend of positive cases occurring in all age groups, including children, either less than 6 (not vaccinated) or 6-18. Even though cases are increasing but it doesn't show the percentage of deaths due to Covid-19 over the past week,' he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Tuesday (6/14).

It was because most people were doing mobility like before the pandemic and the implementation of health protocols was starting to loosen. There was even a decrease in immunity in people who had received two vaccines (full doses) but had not or delayed receiving the third dose (booster), as well as other factors.

"The pandemic is not over yet. We call on the public to always apply strict health protocols and participate in two complete vaccinations for ages 6-17, including boosters for 18 and over. This is a joint effort, don't let that bitter moment repeat itself," she stressed.

The public can also report health problems in their environment to build better health services in Jakarta through Health cadres, local health center officers, or complaints channels owned by the Jakarta administration.
