58.010 Qurbani Animals in Jakarta Declared Free of FMD

The Jakarta administration has confirmed that Qurbani animals in Jakarta are safe from food nd mouth disease (FMD) after passing through health checks through Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security (KPKP) Agency.
Thus far, all animals here are still safe from FMD
Considering that until July 6, 2022, the number of available Qurbani animals reaches 58.010 heads. The number exceeds the total demand in Jakarta, which is estimated at 47,000 heads.
KPKP Agency Head Suharini Eliawati urged residents should be wiser in choosing Qurbani animals and not be tempted by cheap prices and make sure the animals are in healthy condition, and are old enough and not disabled.

She explained those 58,010 animals available consisted of cows, buffalo, goats, and sheep. They were imported from West Java, Central Java, East Java, Lampung, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara. They are currently spread over 1,263 animal shelters in Jakarta.
Unfortunately, in 1,263 shelters, some 76 animals were not fit for sacrifice because of not being old enough and weak.
