Arief Nasrudin Appointed as PAM JAYA President Director

The Jakarta administration has replaced the main director of PAM JAYA which is a strategic step in the transition and transformation period to expand the scope of services. It was stated by Regional-Owned Enterprises Development Agency (BP BUMD) Acting Head Budi Purnama.

PAM JAYA must ensure that the service continues to run well after the changes made

He explained that the end of the cooperation between PAM JAYA with PALYJA and AETRA on January 31, 2023, requires preparation and readiness from all company stakeholders, such as the Board of Directors and Supervisory Board, Management and Employees, the Government, and even the people of Jakarta. Moreover, once this is over, PAM JAYA will face a big job to achieve service coverage of up to 100 percent by 2030.

“In the transition period, the key to successful implementation lies in the role of each company (PAM JAYA, AETRA, and PALYJA) where each company must be able to work together, be proactive, and participatory, as well as adaptive in the transition process. While during the transformation period, PAM JAYA must ensure that the service continues to run well after the changes made," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Saturday (7/16).

The transition and transformation process required the support of all stakeholders. The importance of PAM JAYA's transition and transformation to be carried out correctly. Besides PAM JAYA's responsibility, all stakeholders also play an important role in realizing the ideals of maximum service for the residents.

"The replacement of the president director is part of the efforts and strategies undertaken by the Capital Owners to place PAM JAYA who has integrity, dedication, reliable competence, professional and experience to prepare a good transition and transformation process," he explained.

"Mr. Nasrudin, who previously had experience and a long track record as the President Director of Pasar Jaya, met the criteria needed in the PAM JAYA transition and transformation process. Hope he will be able to work with all stakeholders in completing the transition and transformation process according to the laws and regulations," he furthered.

The policy had gone through the process of procedures and provisions of laws and regulations, where the governor represented the regional government in the ownership of separated regional assets (KPM) at the regional public company for drinking water Jaya had the authority to decide on the appointment and dismissal of the directors.

It has been regulated in laws and regulations, including: - Article 3 of Government Regulation number 54/2017 on BUMD; - Article 12 paragraph (1) letter b of Bylaw number 4/2021 on Changes in the Legal Form of a Regional Drinking Water Company for the Special Capital Region of Jakarta to become a Regional Public Water Company for Drinking Water Jaya; - Gubernatorial Regulation number 5/2018 on Appointment and Dismissal of BUMD Members.

As for the information, PAM JAYA's service coverage is 65% with 909,600 new connections and 20,757 liters of water produced per second. To achieve 100 percent service coverage, they require an additional 11,150 liters of water per second. Towards 100 percent service in 2023 and the challenge of achieving 100% service coverage in 2030 is certainly not an easy job. They must immediately take strategic steps by carrying out transitions and transformations.

"Hope Mr. Nasrudin as the new President Director can carry out his duties well and full of responsibility," he closed.
