Kerak Telor Seller Earns Tens of Millions at Jakarta Fair

The Jakarta Fair Kemayoran, which is held from (6/9) to Sunday (7/17) night, certainly brings its own blessings to every entrepreneur.

We can feel the difference, about 60 percent at the Jakarta Fair than other events

As experienced by a kerak telor seller, Mpok Yani from Tegal Parang Selatan, South Jakarta. She made a profit at the JIExpo Kemayoran Arena by deploying 15 carts inside and outside the area.

"I have three to five carts in Hall C, D, and E areas, while the rest are outside the event location. I coordinate all Betawi food vendors, which number up to 60 people," she expressed.

Jakarta Fair Runs Successfully as One of Catalysts for Economic Revival

Every day, one cart sells at least 10 packs of kerak telor, and most reach 100 packs. She sells kerak telor made of chicken worth Rp 25,000 and ducks worth Rp 30,000.

"Alhamdulillah, the visitors this year are more crowded than in 2019. Perhaps, it's been a vacuum for two years and people's enthusiasm is getting higher. We can feel the difference, about 60 percent at the Jakarta Fair than other events," she explained.

During the event, she earned a daily turnover of Rp 4 to Rp 6 million. If it was totaled over 40 days with a total of 15 private carts, she could achieve a net turnover of around Rp 60 to Rp 80 million.

"Hope the same event can be a routine agenda, as it can improve the economy in Indonesia, especially Jakarta," he concluded.
