Permanent Traffic Diversion at Bundaran HI to Decongest Congestion

The Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub), finally decided to make permanent diversions in the Bundaran HI area starting today, Monday (7/18).

We hope that road users can adjust to the diversions

It will be valid every day from 4 PM to 8 PM to ease traffic congestion in the city.

Dishub Head Syafrin Liputo stated that the evaluation of the traffic diversion trial at the Bundaran HI from June 27 to July 8, 2022, showed positive results.

Dishub: Today, HI Roundabout Traffic Diversion Trial at 4 PM

In that period, the degree of saturation was originally 0.55 to 0.45 or decreased by 16 percent. While the volume of two-way traffic which was originally 40,662 passenger cars (smp) became 46,249, where it rose by 14 percent.

He explained that the traffic delay was originally 3.22 to 2.50 seconds, down 22 percent. While the odds of the queue were all 7 to 16 percent to 5 to 11 percent or down 31 percent.

"From a safety perspective, there is a reduction in traffic contact points. This means that the movement of vehicles from South to East and North to South, which was originally eight points, has been reduced to four points," he explained, Monday (7/18).

He added that the diversions from the south to the east were limited with priority for Transjakarta buses and VVIP groups. Then traffic from the South to the East was diverted via Jalan M.H. Thamrin - turn around at the Patung Kuda (Horse Statue) Roundabout or the Ministry of Transportation.

As for traffic from the East heading to the West or North was diverted to turn left via Jalan Jenderal Sudirman - turn back at Landmark Kolong Sudirman - Jalan Galunggung - turn left to Kupingan BNI - Jalan Jenderal Sudirman and so on.

"We hope that road users can adjust to the diversions, obey the traffic signs and instructions from officers and prioritize road safety," he hoped.
