PT MRT Jakarta is optimistic that the phase 2A construction work of MRT Jakarta CP 201 will be completed in March 2025.
This breakthrough is one of the milestones of the construction work phase 2A
The tunnel boring machine 2 had successfully penetrated the north side wall of Thamrin Station on Friday (7/29). It is done to build a 385.5-meter-long southbound tunnel from Monas Station to Thamrin Station.
PT MRT Jakarta Construction Director Silvia Halim said that the construction project would take about three months from April 11 to July 29, 2022. While tunnel boring machine 2 would then make a return turn at the north shaft point of Thamrin Station to continue construction of the northbound tunnel back to Monas Station.
DTKJ Conveys Developments and Recommendations on Bicycle Infrastructure Services"This breakthrough is one of the milestones of the construction work phase 2A, especially CP 201 which includes the Thamrin and Monas stations construction projects," she explained, Tuesday (8/2).
Thus far, the work on CP 201 has reached 41.84 percent progress with several works such as excavation and casting of the Monas Station base slab, the columns, and wall structures of the Monas substation (RSS), including soil quality improvement (jet grout) at Thamrin Station, installation of traffic decking on the south side of Thamrin Station, and others.
"We're optimistic it can be finished in March 2025," she stressed.
As for the information, construction work on the CP 201 uses two drilling machines, namely the tunnel boring machine or TBM-1 and -2.
TBM-1 builds southbound and northbound tunnels connecting the HI and Thamrin roundabout stations, while TBM-2 builds southbound and northbound tunnels connecting Monas and Thamrin stations.
Afterward, the two of them will jointly build southbound and northbound tunnels connecting Monas and Harmoni stations.
