Jakarta continues to improve in developing Muslim-friendly tourism to attract domestic and foreign tourists," expressed Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) Head Andhika Permata in Jakarta, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Tuesday (8/2).
The agency also continues to work with stakeholders to improve Muslim-friendly tourism facilities. It must be conducted in every destination, such as providing the basic needs of Muslim tourists, water for purification, culinary delights that Muslims can enjoy, adequate worship facilities, and Muslim-friendly tour packages.
Based on the 2022 Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI), Indonesia was ranked second as the country with the highest performance in the world Muslim travel market.
With Indonesia's population, which is predominantly Muslim, it is an opportunity to develop Muslim-friendly tourism with a promising market share.
JMFTE aims to attract the enthusiasm of tourism activists and increase the attractiveness of Muslim tourists coming to Jakarta, including raising the image of Jakarta as a modern urban city that is comfortable for all religious communities.
So, it is expected to increase the positive image of Jakarta as a leading tourist destination, and to develop attractive Muslim-friendly tourist attractions.
