The Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora) and the Indonesian Rowing Association (PODSI) are collaborating to roll out another Jakarta Dragon Boat Festival (JDBF) at Ancol Beach on August 13, 2022.

Hopefully, rowing can become a trend among students and the general public to improve physical and spiritual fitness

Around 650 participants will enliven this festival, consisting of students, clubs, PODSI Provincial Executives (Pengrov) from other regions, and even companies that have rowing sports communities.

There are three categories of competition, namely Each Community, Open Premiere, and Open Student. The Community category consists of Women, Men, and Mix. While the Open Premiere category consists of Clubs and Pengprov.

Dispora Head Achmad Firdaus said the Jakarta Dragon Boat Festival was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Finally, it can be held again this year because of collaboration between the Ark Rowing Club and the Jakarta Paddle Club under the auspices of the Jakarta PODSI Pengprov," he exclaimed, Thursday (8/4).

He explained that it is an annual event in order to promote rowing sports, explore the potential of student athletes, and the community to achieve higher achievements.

"Hopefully, rowing can become a trend among students and the general public to improve physical and spiritual fitness," he hoped.

As for the information, community category participants will be charged a registration fee of Rp 3 million, while the other two categories are free of charge.

The organizers have prepared prizes for the winners in the form of the Jakarta Governor's Cup and coaching money.
