JAKHABITAT, Governor Inaugurates 33 Rusunawa Towers

The Jakarta Public Housing and Settlement Agency continues to improve the quantity and quality of providing affordable and quality housing, through the Integration Program and the JAKHABITAT Residential Gallery.

To follow up on the program, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan inaugurated around 33 towers and 7,421 low-cost apartments (Rusunawa). It was carried out at Penjaringan Rusunawa, North Jakarta, Thursday (8/18). The figure is a record for the construction of the most Rusunawa units in the last five years.

He explained that the Jakarta administration wants policies related to housing and settlements to be integrated through JAKHABITAT, which means a place where living things can grow and develop according to their nature.

"Hopefully, this house and residence will become a habitat for the healthy and happy growth and development of families in Jakarta." he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

He also hoped that the same program could be prolonged in the future. 

"We want to continue and provide more (affordable housing) for Jakarta residents. Surely, we need the government support for the basic needs of its citizens," he continued.

He also left a message to the residents to build a strong atmosphere of togetherness and brotherhood between residents.

"We want a healthy brotherhood here. "It's the government that builds the building, it's the residents who build the brotherhood," he continued.

"Every neighbor is not perfect, so you all have to build a peaceful, calm, and cool atmosphere," he added.

He also appreciated the construction of flats that are close to access to education, where education is an escalator for socio-economic improvement. By so, its residents get the opportunity to prepare for the future of their children as the next generation.

"Moreover, this Penjaringan Rusunawa is close to schools, which means it is a place to prepare for the future. Make sure the children are serious in education and I ask that the atmosphere here is also friendly for children," he stressed.

The flat offers various advantages at affordable prices. The quality and physicality of the buildings and infrastructure are almost the same as vertical housing by private parties/commercial apartments. Besides increasing in quantity, it also improves the physical quality of the building, completeness of supporting facilities, and management of its occupants.

Aside that, the flat prioritizes the empowerment of its occupants thus there is accessibility to public transportation, business space for MSMEs, and other supporting facilities, as well as skills training in a bid to build a more prosperous life for residents.

In addition to complete facilities, residential management is transparent and quick, as registration is done online through the Housing and Settlement Information System (Sirukim) application. Sirukim is a form of modernization of Rusunawa management that is more responsive to the satisfaction/needs of residents, where residents' complaints are managed through Sirukim. The registration process through Sirukim was shorter, which is 17 days from the previous 70 days. Complaints and emergencies will be processed no later than 60 minutes, while infrastructure complaints will be processed no later than 2x24 hours.

Each unit has an area of 36 m2, consisting of a family room, two bedrooms, a kitchen, bathroom, and balcony supported by good quality building materials, the use of an elevator equipped with an access card to increase security and comfort for all residents, as well as good circulation and lighting in the corridor area, the existence of a communal space or common room as a place for occupant interaction.

"By occupying high quality, healthy, and affordable flats, you will be able to increase emotional bonds and a sense of concern for fellow residents towards a more prosperous, harmonious, and happy family. The public can access the Sirukim application or come directly to the Residential Gallery in Martha Tiahahu Park, South Jakarta to get more information," expressed Jakarta Public Housing and Settlement Agency Head Sarjoko.

Here are the ten new flats inaugurated:

1. Revitalization of Penjaringan Rusunawa, North Jakarta. It consists of 4 towers, 20 floors, 1,010 units with 1,008 residential units type 36 and 2 housing units for the poor plus its infrastructure. The flats are already inhabited by 909 households

2. Revitalization of Karang Anyar Rusunawa, Central Jakarta. It consists of 2 towers, 16 floors, 421 units with 420 residential units type 36 and 1 housing unit with the poor plus its infrastructure

3. Revitalization of Cipinang Besar Utara Rusunawa, East Jakarta. It consists of 1 tower, 16 floors, 239 units with 238 residential units of type 36, and 1 unit of housing for the poor and its infrastructure. The flats are inhabited by 105 families who were residents of the relocation from the flames that hit Gembrong Market

4. Construction of PIK Pulogadung Rusunawa, East Jakarta. It consists of 3 towers, 16 floors, 511 units with 507 residential units type 36 and 4 housing units for the poor and its infrastructure

5. Construction of Ujung Menteng Rusunawa, East Jakarta. It consists of 2 towers, 16 floors, 422 units with 420 residential units type 36, and 2 housing units for the poor and its infrastructure. It is now undergoing raffling stage for apartment occupancy

6. Construction of Cakung Barat Rusunawa, East Jakarta. It consists of 3 towers, 16 floors, 542 units with 539 residential units type 36, and 3 housing units for the poor and its infrastructure

7. Construction of PIK Pulogadung Rusunawa for Phase II, East Jakarta. It consists of 6 towers, 16 floors, 1,412 units, consisting of 511 family flats (507 residential units with type 36 and 4 housing units for the poor) and 901 worker flats (897 residential units type 18 and 4 housing units for the poor type 36) along with other facilities and its infrastructure

8. Construction of Pulo Jahe Rusunawa, East Jakarta. It consists of 2 towers, 24 floors, 750 units with 748 residential units type 36, and 2 housing units for the poor and its infrastructure

9. Construction of Padat Karya Rusunawa, North Jakarta. It consists of 2 towers, 16 floors, 377 units with 375 residential units type 36, and 2 housing units for the poor and its infrastructure

10. Construction of Kelapa Gading Timur Rusunawa, North Jakarta. It consists of 1 tower, 11 floors, 151 units with 150 residential units of type 36 and 1 unit of housing for the poor and its infrastructure

Then the two old flats which are inaugurated today:

1. Pulogebang Penggilingan Rusunawa, East Jakarta. It consists of 3 towers, 15 floors, 522 units with 520 residential units type 36, and 2 housing units for the poor and its infrastructure

2. Daan Mogot Rusunawa, West Jakarta. It consists of 4 towers, and 16 floors, with a total of 1,064 units, two of which are housing for the poor, and its infrastructure
