City, Trade Ministry Support Digitization of MSMEs in Tomang Market

Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and Small and Medium Enterprises Agency (DPPKUKM) Head Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo accompanied Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan on a working visit (Kunker) to West Tomang Market, West Jakarta, on Thursday (8/18).

This is at the same time to socialize the use of shopping applications to market traders

The working visit aimed to monitor the development of primary commodity prices in Jakarta.

"This is at the same time to socialize the use of shopping applications to market traders and visitors to transact digitally via the Grab Mart application. Tomang Market is a pilot project for this program," said DPPKUKM Head  Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

It was a follow-up to the partnership between the Trade Ministry and PT Grab Indonesia to encourage the digitization of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), especially in the people's market using the Grab Mart application.

The Jakarta administration through the DPPKUKM and Perumda Pasar Jaya, as the manager of the folk market in Jakarta, welcomed the partnership program carried out by the Trade Ministry.

"We from the administration welcome this partnership, as it is in line with the mission to digitize MSMEs. We are committed to collaborating with various parties, either from the central government or the private sector to encourage the digitization of MSMEs in the folk market. Digitizing MSMEs in the market can be used for digital purchases, cashless payments, and other facilities that support the expansion of access to marketing MSME products," she uttered.
