The East Jakarta administration is about to build around 2,000 infiltration wells in ten sub-districts in order to anticipate inundation and flooding in the rainy season.

It was discussed and realized in the regional coordination meeting (Rakorwil) held at Block C Building, East Jakarta Mayor's office on Thursday (8/18).
According to Muhammad Anwar, Mayor of East Jakarta, the location point for the infiltration well will be mapped next week, especially in areas that often occur inundation and flooding during the rainy season.

They were also instructed to check the condition of all reservoirs, embung (artificial lake), and water channels in 10 sub-districts.
"It would be better to do it now considering it's the dry season right now. Hopefully, all the wells can be realized without a hitch," he concluded.
