Kemendag - PPKUKM Agency Monitors Six Gas Stations

The Trade Ministry (Kemendag) and the Jakarta Industry Trade Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM) Agency have conducted monitoring against the Fuel Measuring Pump (PUBBM) at six gas stations (SPBUs) in East Jakarta.

Jakarta PPKUKM Agency Head, Nurhidayat said that the monitoring is a routine activity of the Trade Ministry. Especially in Jakarta, it is focused on six gas stations.

"Hopefully, the community as consumers get protection and legal certainty over the correctness of the measurement results in trade transactions," he expressed, Monday (9/26).

He explained that it was carried out to ensure the use of Measuring, Dosing, Weighing, and Equipment (UTTP) instruments, the correctness of the measurements, dosing and weighing, and calibration marks. It is noted that around 23 PUBBMs with 70 nozzles are checked during monitoring.

Based on the results of monitoring activities at six gas stations, there was no violation of Law No. 2/1981 on Legal Metrology. All fuel oil gauge pumps were marked with valid calibrations and the error was still within the allowable error limit (approximately 0.5 percent).

"From the results of the monitoring, all fuel gauge pumps at the gas station have a valid stamp. For the correctness of the measurement results, dosing and weighing are still within the allowed tolerance limits," he uttered.
