Governor Anies: Jakarta Innovation Days, a Place for Reform in City Development

Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, attended and opened the Jakarta Innovation Days activity, which is a forum for innovation results from regional apparatus, NGOs, academics, and communities in Jakarta which will be developed through the inter-stakeholder collaboration for the betterment of Jakarta.

The Jakarta Innovation Days, which take place from September 27 to 28 at Jakarta City Hall, Central Jakarta, presented the works and ideas of innovators from across sectors such as private sector, academia, community, and Jakarta residents.
In his speech, he conveyed that the various programs carried out in Jakarta were the result of the exchange of ideas on the creative process that led to innovation. It could be of benefit not only to the government in Jakarta but to anyone as well.

He also explained that it could be an opportunity for the Jakarta administration to share experiences with collaborators and participants of Jakarta Innovation Days or vice versa. Thus, other regions could exchange ideas and experiences in developing their respective regions.
"It also applies to innovators who come to share their experiences with us, including ideas that can be useful in Jakarta. This is a forum for exchanging breakthroughs, innovations, sharing experiences, and building networks," he explained.
"I'm very happy that Bappeda initiated this activity and I hope that our future development will continue to be colored with breakthroughs and innovations," he concluded.
Jakarta Development Planning Board (Bappeda) Head, Atika Nur Rahmania assessed that the Jakarta Innovation Days were held as an event to open insight and awareness of Jakartans on the importance of implementing an innovative and collaborative culture in their daily lives. It is also to support domestic progress with innovation and science and technology (IPTEK).
"It is held for two days and is an innovation-sharing event for various innovation collaborators in Jakarta. There are three series of events, the first is the opening and exhibition, then sharing sessions for three topics related to mobility, digital, and the third city space. Including site visits to several innovation projects in Jakarta," she added.
As for the information, the activity was also attended by Jakarta Deputy Governor, Ahmad Riza Patria and his rank; representatives of Ministry/Institution; Bappeda heads from Java, Bali, and Sumatera; Academics; Non-Governmental Organization (NGO); Community; and School/College students.
