Parks in C. Jakarta will Be Equipped with Children Facilities

Sooner or later, the entire park that spread over eight sub-districts in Central Jakarta will be equipped with facilities for children and elderly people. It is an effort to create a child-elderly friendly city.

For children-friendly park, we began to add playground facility using a play land concept

According to Themy Kendra Putra, Head of Central Jakarta Parks and Cemetery Sub-Department, inside the park, there are children and elderly facilities which are still difficult to find in his region.

"For children-friendly park, we began to add playground facility using a play land concept. It is made in detail as safety act," he expressed, Saturday (1/24).

East Jakarta to Build 9 Children-friendly Parks

He furthered, those parks should also be easily accessible to the elderly and disabled people. One of them is by building a wheelchair track.

"We will add benches for elderly. Thus they will enjoy," he explained.

Putra admitted disappointed with conditions of the parks that have been converted. One of these parks are often used for drying clothes or dating.

"As the initial phase, we have to study the public demographics first. We also intend to build a community garden thus they have a sense of belonging and would maintain it," he disclosed.
