Jakarta BPBD - BMKG Strengthens Synergy in Anticipating Disasters

Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Head, Isnawa Adji and his staff made a working visit (kunker) to the BMKG office, Jalan Angkasa I, Gunung Sahari Selatan, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

We want to anticipate and manage disasters optimally

According to him, today's working visit was aimed to strengthen synergy and coordination related to disaster management and anticipation of extreme weather in Jakarta.

"We did it yesterday. Through a meeting with BMKG, we want to anticipate and manage disasters optimally," he expressed, in a written statement, Wednesday (10/26).

He explained that BMKG is an important source of information regarding potential disasters, including the weather which is currently entering the rainy season.

"Information from the BMKG allows us to map immediately and take the necessary early anticipatory steps," he explained.

Through an early warning to the community, it is hoped that it can minimize the potential for material losses and loss of life when a disaster occurs.

"At the BMKG office, we also saw directly the operational rooms from the Meteorological Early Warning System, Tsunami Early Warning System, Climate Early Warning System to broadcast studios for Youtube shows, and social media owned by BMKG," he stated.
