Jakarta Kejati Head, Reda Mantovani said that the joint planting action also involved Jakarta regional-owned enterprises (BUMD), professional organizations, youth organizations, and other stakeholders.

According to him, the youth pledge has meaning as the starting point for youth to unite the nation. Then the second oath became a milestone in emphasizing language as a unifying nation and thirdly maintaining the integrity of the nation.

He then continued that the act of planting mangroves as a memorial has more benefits than just a ceremony. The existence of mangroves has various functions, such as resisting sea abrasion, being the center of marine life, absorbing carbon dioxide, and producing oxygen.

In addition, 28 birds were also released with habitats living in mangroves. He hoped that the planting and releasing of the birds could provide benefits for environmental conservation in Jakarta.

"I hope that all of us can play an active role in maintaining its sustainability. Don't let us destroy the mangrove forest. This is important for us," he asserted.

Jakarta Parks and City Forest Agency Head, Suzi Marsitawati appreciated the Jakara Kejati Head for initiating the joint mangrove planting activity. His party has also declared a planting location included in the Muara Angke Kapuk Forest as a green strategic area since 2009.

"The Jakarta administration will remain committed to maintaining the remaining mangrove areas to maintain the balance of Jakarta. Moreover, this Mangrove can prevent abrasion to absorb carbon," he stated.
