Cooperation in Legal Sector, Governor Appreciates Kejati for Realizing Good Governance in Jakarta

As many as 15 regional-owned enterprises (BUMD) has the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Legal Sector with the Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) at Jakarta City Hall. Central Jakarta, on Thursday (3/31).

Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan explained that collaboration is a form of the Jakarta administration's commitment to run its programs with the principles of good governance.

Alhamdulillah, in 2020, the compliance rate in Jakarta for integrated corruption prevention was 76 percent. Then it increased to 90 percent in 2021. This is the integrated corruption prevention number from the KPK which places Jakarta as the green category or the best in that category," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Thursday (3/31).
He also appreciated the Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office in several ways to realize good governance.
The first was the provision of legal opinions to regional apparatus and BUMD, the second was assistance in the planning and implementation of potentially fraudulent activity programs, the third was assisting in dispute resolution efforts through consultation with third parties, and the fourth was assistance and monitoring of the implementation in handling the pandemic starting from social assistance, vaccination, to the distribution of oxygen.
"This is very significant for us in Jakarta, either agency or BUMD. Today, we are signing the agreement, and we hope they help us to implement and smoothen the Jakarta governance well, thus we can make improvements systemically, continuously," he added.
Prosecutor Chief Reda Mathovani explained that the collaboration was made as a mandate that he conducted from the AGO, thus there would be harmony in supporting transparent development efforts in Jakarta. It was also included in the activities of BUMD in Jakarta.
"So, we can all avoid stagnant development, due to legal problems. Therefore, we want to stabilize, facilitate, and avoid legal problems in the future," he concluded.
As for the information, one of the concrete evidences of efforts to realize good governance by the Jakarta administration is the obtaining of an Unqualified Opinion (WTP) from the BPK for 4 consecutive years and the achievement of Monitoring Control for Prevention (MCP)/Integrated Corruption Prevention Program in 2021 with a score of 90.01% from the KPK.
The score increased significantly from the 2020 score of 76%. It puts Jakarta in the green zone or the highest zone for the implementation of corruption prevention programs for all intervention areas.
