Acting Governor will Directly Monitor New Year's Eve in Jakarta

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono is about to directly monitor the New Year's Eve celebrations in several locations, starting from City Hall - Jalan Sudirman - Thamrin - FX - Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII).

The statement was conveyed after he led an executive meeting in the Bappeda Pattern Room, City Hall Building, Tuesday (12/21). The meeting was attended by all regional apparatuses organizations (OPDs) under the Jakarta Provincial Government.

According to him, the Jakarta Government would hold a New Year's Eve celebration centered in the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) area, East Jakarta.

"Each region also holds these activities. Also in entertainment venues, as well as public spaces," he said.

Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economic Agency Head, Andhika Permata explained that for Christmas celebrations, there are Christmas Carols in the Kendal Tunnel, HI, and Kota Tua, as well as the Jakarta Light Festival at Sumenep Promenade and Kota Tua area.

He went on to say that New Year's Eve would be centered at TMII by holding various festivals. The same event would also be held in five city areas and Seribu Islands. In Central Jakarta for instance, the event would be centered at Thamrin 10, while North Jakarta and West Jakarta would hold it at the mayor's office, South Jakarta will hold it at Setu Babakan, East Jakarta will hold it in Cakung, and Seribu Islands will hold it on Untung Jawa Island.

"On December 31, there will be Car Free Night (CFN), where we have a remote stage set up by collaborators. Each stage will present a variety of musical genres," he explained.

"The center remains at TMII, as TMII has become an icon of a tourist destination in Jakarta and was only opened after revitalization work, so we activated it there, and the response was also very good," he concluded.
