ITF Sunter is predicted to be able to process 720,000 tons of waste annually
Jakarta's first Intermediate Treatment Facility (ITF) built in Sunter, North Jakarta is targeted to operate in 2027. The ITF Sunter development is PT Jakarta Propertindo through its subsidiary, PT Jakarta Solusi Lestari (JSL).
Jakpro's Vice President for Corporate Secretary Syachrial Syarif said the ITF construction is a national strategic project (PSN) in the energy sector regulated in Presidential Regulation Number 35/2018 on the Acceleration of the Development of Waste Processing Installations into Electrical Energy Based on Environmentally Friendly Waste Technology.
ITF Sunter has Entered Pre-Construction Process Stage, Jakpro SaysSince 2019, his party has obtained an Amdal permit (environmental impact analysis) and a building permit (IMB) after conducting pre-development activities and studies related to the ITF's physical development.
"Since 2019, we have done several things related to the physical development of ITF Sunter," he said in his written statement to Beritajakarta.id, Monday (12/26).
Thus far, its development has entered the final stage of partner selection. Since the beginning of the selection, there were a total of 10 potential partners who took part in the selection process.
"At the final stage of this selection, we select a partner who will be appointed as a consortium with PT JSL to build ITF Sunter," he explained.
He explained this work is the first in Indonesia to use environmentally friendly technology according to EURO 5 standards. Based on the feasibility study, ITF Sunter is predicted to be able to process 720,000 tons of waste annually and generate 35 MW of electricity per day or 280,000 MW per year.
"This is very needed for the sustainability of a sustainable city considering that waste production in Jakarta is very high, namely 7,000 to 8,000 tons per day," he continued.
Thereby, his party continues to synergize with stakeholders, thus the main goal of realizing a more livable city, through waste-to-energy management, can be achieved immediately.
"Towards the end of 2022, we thank all parties who have supported this project. Please pray for the blessing of all stakeholders for the smooth running of ITF Sunter next year," he concluded.
