It is an important part of the Jakarta Provincial Government's efforts to encourage the transition from private vehicles to electric vehicles.

Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) Head, Syafrin Liputo said that with additional 26 electric buses, PT Transjakarta already has 56 electric buses as previously 30 electric buses had been operated.

In addition, the Jakarta Government will soon carry out the signing of the cooperation agreement for the procurement and operation of 44 more electric buses, in line with the target of 100 electric buses this year.

"So, this year, our target is 100 electric buses. Due to running out of time, what we hope is that at least there will be a cooperation agreement first," he explained.

With this agreement, the procurement and operation of an additional 44 electric buses is expected to run smoothly. He added the Jakarta Government also plans to add 120 electric buses in 2023.

PT Transjakarta President Director, Mochammad Yana Aditya hoped that the cooperation agreement would enable transportation services in Jakarta to involve all stakeholders, not just Transjakarta.

Perum PPD Director, Joni Prasetiyanto added that this cooperation is in the framework of refreshing the fleet based on meeting the needs of electric vehicles. One of the bases for its implementation is Government Regulation No. 55/2012 on Vehicles.

By doing so, he hoped that it could play an even greater role in transportation services in Jakarta in the future.

"Especially through the better cooperation with PT Transjakarta," he stated.
