Bina Marga Arranges Aerial Cables in Tebet

The Jakarta Bina Marga Agency, cut the aerial cables on Jalan Tebet Timur Raya, Tebet, South Jakarta, Friday (12/30).

Jakarta Bina Marga Agency Head, Hari Nugroho said it was aimed at supporting the implementation of digital infrastructure and the structuring of Jakarta into a Smart City and to realize the neatness of the city thus it is in line with the rules of urban spatial planning, sustainability, and aesthetics.
According to him, it was the second activity carried out in the South Jakarta area.

He explained the control of the aerial cable with the number of utility network operators that were cut was 12-15 operators (27 cables) located on Jalan Tebet Timur Raya for 1,100 meters; Jalan Tebet Barat Raya IX for 130 meters long; Jalan Tebet Barat X for 150 meters long; and Jalan Tebet Barat Raya for 1,000 meters long.
He asserted that the action would be intensified on some roads of Jakarta and was targeted to be free of aerial cables within 4-5 years ahead.
"Jakarta will be more orderly, clean, and beautiful in the future. No more messy cable issues," he stressed.
He added that it is an Integrated Utility Network Facility (SJUT) development program in collaboration with two BUMDs, Jakpro and Sarana Jaya with a target of 200 kilometers by the end of the year.
"It is still under construction and has not been completed. After it is finished, we will later evaluate it for future developments," he concluded.
South Jakarta Mayor, Munjirin added that his party fully supports the control of the aerial cable, as there are many public complaints regarding the aerial cable which is very disturbing to the eye.
"South Jakarta can be said to be a pilot project. We will gradually socialize it to the public," he concluded.
