It was conducted to warn operators or providers to relocate their utility cables to the utility box provided by the Jakarta Government through the SJUT program.
The SJUT work on Jalan Mampang Raya had been completed in December 2021, but the Government had extended the time limit up to 3-6 months for operators or providers to negotiate with PT Jakpro which was in charge of SJUT. After reaching an agreement, operators and providers agreed to relocate their utility cables underground.
"Aerial cables will be cut because operators not relocating their cables underground and don't comply with regulations related to utility cables," he said at the location, Thursday (4/7).
According to him, cables on Jalan Mampang Prapatan Raya were managed by 43 operators. Based on reports, a total of 25 operators were in the process of reaching an agreement with PT. Jakpro, while nine others were not willing to relocate and negotiate.
He emphasized that utility cable control or aerial cable cutting would be carried out in stages at the SJUT location. Next, the next cable cutting would be carried out on Jalan Wolter Monginsidi, Jalan Gunawarman, and Jalan Cikajang in Kebayoran Baru Sub-district.
"If it is not relocated, we will cut it. This is our commitment since 2019 that aerial cables are no longer allowed or illegal," he asserted.
The spatial planning through SJUT aimed to beautify the city, and ease the utility cables monitoring and maintenance for providers. Besides, SJUT was also a potential for Regional Income (PAD).
"We will organize Jakarta in the next five years towards a developed city. Thus, there will be no aerial cables. We will also optimize the task force to monitor in the field every day," he stated.
