Together with three pillars, we are ready to succeed in closing the event to welcome the New Year 2023. We will facilitate people to celebrate it. He has also instructed the Jakarta Government ranks to be on alert in making the New Year's Eve celebrations a success, as well as maintaining public order and tranquility during this momentum. It includes being prepared to face all kinds of potential vulnerabilities, obstacles, and disasters in New Year celebrations.
"We've discussed everything and we're through Satpol PP, Fire and Rescue Agency, Health Agency, Transportation Agency, and other related units. We make sure all services run well, including health. I have also asked the Health Agency (Dinkes) Head to prepare referral hospitals. We'll open health services at certain points. We also have maximized the routes for Transjakarta and MRT services," he explained.
He also advised all elements of society who will attend or enliven the New Year's Eve celebration to always maintain the cleanliness and beauty of Jakarta.
"We urge people who want to take part in the celebration to maintain cleanliness and patience. If there are points where the New Year's celebration is very crowded, we must understand each other for a smooth event," he explained.
Polda Metro Jaya Chief, M. Fadil Imran revealed that the three pillars of Polda Metro Jaya, Kodam Jaya, and Jakarta Government would deploy joint personnel strength to ensure the security of New Year's Eve.
"Together with Mr. Governor and Mr. Kasdam, we carried out a final check on the readiness of New Year's Eve security in the jurisdiction of Polda Metro Jaya, both in Jakarta and the agglomeration," he uttered.
At that time, Polda Metro Jaya, Kodam Jaya, and Jakarta Government emphasized several important things.
"Especially for us, we adjusted the celebration points held by the Jakarta Government, by the private sector which usually celebrates, and public roads where there are frequent disruptions prone to traffic jams, the risk of friction/fights, the potential for natural disasters to occur floods, up to disruption of public security guards (Kamtibmas)/other crimes," he explained.
He added that the Polda Metro Jaya would give out 2/3 of its power. "O power is 35,000. 1/3 rest to carry out routine activities the next day, while 2/3 will be full to back up. Starting from Sudirman-Thamrin where there are several stage points, we have prepared them. Together with Mr. Governor, we at TMII and each resort police together with the mayors, some points will be secured," he added.
He then called on all people to properly interpret the momentum of this New Year's Eve.
"Let's celebrate this New Year's Eve with joy, but not too much. We celebrate with joy, but we also have to see the downsides. So, we banned the use of firecrackers and fireworks in Sudirman-Thamrin. Obey, follow the information and directions from police, TNI, and Jakarta Government who will serve the community on New Year's Eve," he closed.
