4,000 Sandbags Prepared in North Jakarta to Prevent Flooding

The North Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency has prepared 4,000 sandbags to anticipate flooding in six sub-districts. They are prepared as emergency embankments to localize or hold back the water flow.

North Jakarta SDA Sub-agency Head, Adrian Maulana said that it is an emergency measure. Not only overcome collapsed channels or embankments, but the sandbags were also prepared to anticipate tidal floods in the northern coastal area of Jakarta.

"We have prepared them at the city and sub-district levels," he expressed, Thursday (1/5).

He explained in six sub-districts, each received 500 sandbags, while 1,000 other sandbags were prepared for emergency handling by the Maintenance Division for the North Jakarta SDA Sub-agency.

"We still have more sandbags in stock. If it's not enough, we'll prepare it again," he stated.
