Tens of Million People Enjoy MRT Jakarta Services During 2022

PT MRT Jakarta has recorded that around 19.7 million people have enjoyed MRT Jakarta services throughout 2022 with 87,072 train trips.

The number above shows that an average of 50,000 people use MRT per day. Ratangga's travel, arrival and stop times also reached 99.94 percent.

PT MRT Jakarta Corporate Secretary Division Head, Ahmad Pratomi said that the company targets the number of passengers transported to reach 14.6 million people throughout 2022 at the beginning of last year, or the equivalent of a daily average of 40,000 people per day.

MRT Jakarta Extends its Service Operations

"PT MRT Jakarta cooperates with various parties, especially from the tourism industry such as the culinary sector, activities, to shopping centers, health, education, and ticket promos in several tourist attractions," he expressed, Wednesday (1/11).

According to him, collaborative work with several feeder public transport operators has also boosted transportation rates, such as Transjakarta, PPD, Tebengan, Gojek, Grab, and most recently, Swoop.

He assessed that the existence of this feeder transport will have an impact not only on increasing transport rates, but also encourage the culture of using ride-sharing platforms.

Numerically, these feeder operators contributed around 13 percent of the total number of MRT Jakarta riderships.

"PT MRT Jakarta is grateful to the people who have placed their trust in MRT services and its feeder partners, thus more people use MRT in their daily mobility," he explained.

He explained that the development of transit oriented development (TOD) areas at several phase 1 stations of the South - North corridor which was designed to integrate transit functions with people, activities, buildings and public spaces also contributed to optimizing access to public transportation, thus it could support passenger carrying capacity.

As part of innovation and following digital trends by the community, MRT Jakarta service users can use the MRT Jakarta application on smartphones to buy travel tickets, use points to exchange for various promos, even watch movies and play mobile games.

"All of these lifestyle features aim to provide customers with a full experience when using MRT Jakarta services," he continued.

In the Jakarta MRT environment, both the station and Ratangga, the implementation of the health protocol is absolutely mandatory. Aspects of safety, security and comfort for service users have always been a priority for the company.

"MRT Jakarta consistently implements health protocols at stations and ratangga for mutual safety through the Protokol Bangkit which has received good appreciation from the public as a concrete form of reducing the risk of spreading Covid-19 on MRT Jakarta," he closed.
