Floods engulfed 10 urban villages that spread in East Jakarta after incessant rain hit the capital since yesterday. Among them are Cipinang Melayu (Makasar Sub-District), Dukuh and Cililitan (Kramatjati Sub-District), Rawa Terate, Cakung Barat, Penggilingan, Jatinegara (Cakung Sub-District), Kayuputih (Pulogadung Sub-District), Ciracas and Rambutan (Ciracas Sub-District). 

Predictably, the number of flood victims will continue to increase. Hence, we will add the food aid

Based on the newest data, there are 3,000 refugees in such areas. Thus far, the food aid has been supplied by East Jakarta Social Sub-Department. One of them is located at Jalan H Naman Pondok Kelapa, Duren Sawit.

Head of East Jakarta Social Sub-Department, Masyudi disclosed as many as 3,000 packaged rice meals are distributed to the refugees for dinner. "Predictably, the number of flood victims will continue to increase. Hence, we will add the food aid," he expressed, Monday (2/9).

He assessed the condition is not emergency yet. If it is emergency, his side will set up a bigger public kitchen in the Ciracas Sport Hall (GOR).
