Heru Expects Solid Partnership Between Jakarta Government and IMI Jakarta

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono attended the inauguration of 29 Jakarta Indonesian Motors Association (IMI) board members for the 2021-2025 service period by Central IMI Chairman, Bambang Soesatyo, at Jakarta City Hall, Central Jakarta, Monday (1/16).

According to him, there would be innovations by strengthening the partnership between the Jakarta Provincial Government and IMI Jakarta in carrying out automotive activities, which would positively impact society.

He assessed that IMI Jakarta could play a role in achieving organizational goals, namely educating residents in driving according to procedures, increasing national and international automotive sports achievements, developing the automotive industry, and automotive tourism in Jakarta.

"Hope they can be the government's partner in socializing and educating the public about good driving habits. It is important to improve public safety and create orderly traffic in Jakarta," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

He also explained new opportunities in strengthening the partnership and advancing the automotive world in Jakarta related to the sports sector, such as off-road, road races (two or four-wheeled vehicles), go kart, and the success of the Mandalika MotoGP event, as well as the Formula E racing event.

"Hope the strengthening cooperation between the Jakarta Government and IMI Jakarta Management in advancing sports and automotive tourism, to support creative economic growth in Jakarta," he explained.

"Aside from that, the management keeps maintaining the best performance and achievements that have been achieved so far by maintaining a spirit of solidarity. This is because solidarity won't only maintain hospitality, but can also be used as the basis for achieving common productive goals," he added.

Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) Chairman, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi hoped that the newly appointed IMI Jakarta management could develop the automotive world.

It was deemed that IMI Jakarta was founded by underlining and carrying out the meaning, nature, and objectives of the privileges of the Jakarta Government by applicable laws and regulations.

"Hopefully, the new board of directors can carry out their work programs with full professionalism and high dedication, to advance the organization, region, nation, and state. To the appointed management, I wish you a good job and serving a period of 2021–2025," he concluded.

As for the information, the inauguration was attended by Jakarta KONI Chairman, Hidayat Humaid; Polda Metro Jaya Chief, Gen. Pol. Fadil Imran; Pangdam Jaya, Maj. Gen. TNI Untung Budiharto; Jakarta IMI Chairman, Anondo Eko; as well as Jakarta Culture and Tourism Division Deputy Governor, Marullah Matali.
