According to Ahok, flood that always inundate Jalan S Parman, West Jakarta, or precisely in front of the Citraland Mall and Tarumanagara and Trisakti Universities along the road, is the authority of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing.
Flood Problem, Ahok Ready to Be Summoned by President"That's why I say the floods that are in front of Tarumanegara University near the toll road is the responsibility of the central government. I also report if the road was elevated 1 meter, it would be a problem because the water will flow to the left side. To flow water into the Grogol River, we will install the pump," he explained, at City Hall, Tuesday (2/10).
Related with damaged roads left by flood, he also requested Mr. Jokowi to give him the authority to patch up such damages, considering it is located in Jakarta. Moreover, the condition often makes people upset.
"Post-flood, the road would make potholes. If we wait for the repair from the Public Works Ministry, it would be a waste of time. People would be cussing me (as governor). I hope the President to give me the authority soon," he pleaded
He acknowledged that if the request was not granted, his party would ask for maintenance. Nevertheless, the city administration's plan must be approved in advance with the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing in charge of the region.
Regarding the power outage in Pluit Reservoir, he requested the PLN not disconnect electricity. "I also request Mr. President to ask PLN not to disconnect electricity of the pump machines in North Jakarta," he stressed.
