Next Week, Channel Dredging in Kayu Manis Completed

The water channel dredging located in the residential area, RW 07, Jalan Kayu Manis, which has been carried out by the Matraman Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Task Force since last week is targeted to be completed next week.

It is done to anticipate inundation when it rains

Matraman Sub-district SDA Task Force Coordinator, Tamrizal stated the channels dredged are spread over six RT areas, namely RT 01, 03, 04, 07, 13, and 14/RW 07, with a total channel length of 750 meters.

According to him, the channel, which is about 40 to 60 centimeters in dimension was dredged, as the mud had reached 30 centimeters. Thus, the capacity of the water debit is reduced and it is worried that it could trigger inundation.

"It is done to anticipate inundation when it rains," he expressed, Thursday (1/26).

To dredge the channel, he sent 10 workers to the location. So far, the progress has touched 75 percent.

"We send them every day," he stated.
