Heru Urges RW Chairmen to Keep South Jakarta Area Clean and Safe

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono attended the RW Chairperson Gathering in South Jakarta City at the Boutique Mall Ballroom, East Kuningan, Setiabudi, Sunday (2/5).

On that occasion, he urged all RT/RW administrators, Bhayangkara Supervisors for Public Order Officer (Bhabinkamtibmas), and Village Supervisory Non-commissioned Officers (Babinsa) to maintain security, cleanliness, and serve the community well.

"Security issues, regarding crime, I entrust the area to the RW, urban village heads, sub-district heads with the assistance of Babinsa and Bhabinkantibmas," he expressed while accompanied by Polda Metro Jaya Chief, Gen. Pol. Fadil Imran, Pangdam Jaya Maj. Gen. TNI Untung Budiharto, and South Jakarta Mayor, Munjirin, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

He went on to say that 2023 is a particular year for Jakartans. In February, several future activities will be held in Jakarta, such as ASEAN Summit.

"South Jakarta is a special place for delegates to stay. In October, this city is where heads of state hold high-level meetings. To RW, tell RT and residents to keep clean and safe thus Jakarta can represent Indonesia for existing in developed countries," he explained.

He also appreciated the achievement of the potential social vulnerability index in Jakarta. One of them was Ciganjur Urban Village which has the lowest vulnerability index.

"It means brawls and low crime. Surely, other regions will follow. Globally, from a macro perspective, Jakarta's potential social vulnerability index is 18.9 percent. If it's good, it's zero. Hopefully, we can minimize this case maximally," he uttered.

Polda Metro Jaya Chief, Gen. Pol. Fadil Imran expressed the RW chairmen had a very important role. The friendly attitude between RWs can ease the community in going through the various problems they encounter. The balance in one RW has a big influence on the larger community.

"If Jakarta is likened to a human being, RW becomes part of his body. You're the nerve endings for all of us. This is because you are the ones who can feel and see firsthand what is happening, and make the residents' hopes come true," he stated.

He added that South Jakarta has the largest population in Jakarta, after East Jakarta. Several cases that must be examined together are juvenile delinquency, such as brawls, wild racing, social disorder, motor vehicle theft, and theft by weighting.
