City, Bapanas and Bulog Work in Synergy to Monitor Food Needs

The Jakarta Provincial Government, National Food Agency (Bapanas), and Bulog work together to hold joint monitoring at a retail company in Puri Indah area, Kembangan, West Jakarta, Wednesday (2/8). This monitoring aims to ensure stable food availability and prices ahead of the month of Ramadan and Eid ul-Fitr 1444 Hijri in Jakarta.

It was attended by Bapanas Head, Arief Prasetyo Adi; Perum Bulog President Director, Budi Waseso; and Jakarta PPKUKM Agency Head, Ratu Elisabeth Rante Allo.

Jakarta PPKUKM Agency Head, Ratu Elisabeth Rante Allo said the monitoring that was held together today was to ensure the availability of food ahead of the month of Ramadan and Eid ul-Fitr 1444 Hijri/2023.

"Perum Bulog and related stakeholders are committed to synergizing with the Jakarta Government, thus Jakarta residents get their food needs at affordable prices," she expressed.

She was optimistic that the synergy between the Jakarta Government together with Perum Bulog and the Indonesian Retailers Association (Aprindo) was able to suppress rice prices in the near future.

"Insya Allah (God Willing), the synergy between Bulog and Aprindo, which has 4,500 branch stores in Jakarta, will be able to reduce rice prices quickly," she said.

She added that the Jakarta PPKUKM Agency also synergized with BUMDs in the food security sector to prepare cheap raw materials such as meat, chili, and rice.

"Jakarta BUMD in the field of food security has also collaborated a lot with food-producing provinces to be able to supply the needs of Jakarta residents," she added.

Bapanas Head, Arief Prasetyo Adi added that premium rice from Perum Bulog was distributed to traditional and modern markets and retail companies in Jakarta to suppress price hikes in the market.

"Rice from Perum Bulog has begun to be distributed to traditional, modern and retail markets of good quality with the highest HET price in Jakarta of Rp 9,450 per kg," he explained.

His party was also committed to ensuring the availability of other foods such as sugar, cooking oil, chicken, beef, and buffalo ahead of the Eid ul-Fitr holiday.

"Various food needs are ensured to be available in the market at affordable prices," he stated.
