Construction of Infiltration Wells on Tidung Island Completed

The Seribu Islands Water Resources Sub-agency (SDA) says as many as two infiltration wells have been built in the residential area of RT 07/RW 02, precisely in front of SMKN 61, Tidung Island Urban Village, South Seribu Islands.

Make sure Tidung Island or other islands are free of inundation

Seribu Islands SDA Sub-agency Head, Hendri expressed that the infiltration well construction involved ten workers. It was executed on Saturday (2/24) and completed yesterday, Monday (2/27).

"It aims to anticipate inundation when it rains," he said, Tuesday (2/28).

Construction of Four Infiltration Wells on Pramuka Island Done

Previously, his sub-agency had completed four wells in RW 03 Tidung Island Urban Village. Thus far, those well are already functional.

"Each well has 25 meters long with 60x40 diameters and 60 centimeters deep," he explained.

He hoped that locals could always keep the cleanliness of the environment in order to block garbage in the wells.

"I remind officers to keep monitoring inundation-prone spots for further action. Make sure Tidung Island or other islands are free of inundation," he stressed.
