Embankment Construction on Untung Jawa Island will Be Completed Soon

The embankment construction on the west side of the Untung Jawa Island Pier, South Seribu Islands, Seribu Islands is targeted to be completed this week.

It involves 10 workers every day

The embankment, which was built since Sunday (2/20) has now touched 85 percent progress.

Seribu Islands Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency Head, Hendri stated the construction of the embankment, which is 19 meters long, 2.5 meters wide, and two meters high is done manually.

"It's still under construction, there are three meters left of a total of 19 meters. This is quite long because it takes the process of moving the cubes to be lifted manually," he expressed, Tuesday (3/7).

He explained its construction used materials, cement, split stone, and sand. When finished, the embankment would be painted to make it look cleaner and more beautiful.

"It involves 10 workers every day," he expressed.

This work recieved an appreciation from Syahril, a resident of Untung Jawa Island. The embankment itself is believed to look neater and can function as a berth for residents' boats.

"After being painted, it will also add beauty. Hopefully, the work will be completed according to the target," he stated.
