795 Trees Planted Along KBT's Green Belt

Jakarta Parks and City Forest Agency has planted 795 trees type tabebuya and ketapang along the East Flood Canal (KBT)'s Green Belt as long as 14 kilometers.

It is expected to create a city of Jakarta that is cooler and more beautiful

Jakarta Parks and City Forest Agency Head, Bayu Megantara said that besides being a source of oxygen for residents' lives, the tree function is also as a shade and absorbent of pollutants.

"It is expected to create a city of Jakarta that is cooler and more beautiful," he expressed, Monday (3/13).

Trees and Ornamental Planted in 587 Locations

He was committed to creating a greener city in Jakarta. Since the beginning of the year, tree and ornamental plant planting had been executed in 587 locations in Jakarta.

This year, more than 20,000 trees are targeted to be planted, especially in areas that have not been planted or have been affected by infrastructure development so far.

"Planting trees is a form and realization of environmental sustainability in Jakarta sustainably," he stated.
