Azas Tigor: Heru Runs Local Government Coordination Functions Optimally

Jakarta Residents Forum (Fakta) Chairman, Azas Tigor Nainggolan says the Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono has moved quickly to coordinate with the central government and stakeholders to overcome various problems in Jakarta.

He (Mr. Heru) has carried out the coordination function optimally

According to him, coordination between the local government and the central government is very important. No wonder, the Acting Governor met many officials from other central and local government officials.

"He (Mr. Heru) has carried out the coordination function optimally. From each meeting, there is surely a substance that is discussed and novelty or a solution to the problem. So, it was natural for him to walk back and forth as he had the goal of ensuring that the development program in Jakarta was running well," he expressed, Thursday (3/16).

From this good coordination, there were crucial issues that would be jointly handled by the central and local governments, such as those related to floods and traffic jams.

"To handle floods, through coordination with PUPR Ministry, the Ciliwung Sodetan (crossing channel) project is encouraging progress. President Jokowi, accompanied by Mr. Heru, checked the progress directly. Normalization is also running again," he explained.

Regarding traffic jams, the Acting Governor had also met with Transportation Minister, Budi Karya Sumadi and BUMN Minister, Erick Thohir about the development and integration of transportation modes.

Aside that, there is a significant project for mass transportation modes that will be realized, namely LRT for Phase 1B (Velodrome-Manggarai) route. It is targeted to be completed by the end of 2024. Then is East-West MRT for Cikarang - Jakarta - Balaraja route with Phase 1, namely Tomang - Medan Satria which will start in 2024.

"Communication and coordination are carried out neatly between stakeholders. During Mr. Heru's leadership, the synergy between the center and the regions was very good. I think the public needs to know and support his steps," he explained.

Aside that, he is also a visionary leader, as he has quickly mapped and prepared the necessary steps related to Jakarta after its status as National Capital City.

"He has coordinated with the Trade Minister and Agrarian Reform and Spatial Planning Minister, Hadi Tjahjanto to discuss the future utilization of central government assets," he explained.

On the internal side of Jakarta Provincial Government, he is also diligent in making visits where it is important to do to directly check the implementation of the directives given.

"Starting from services at sub-district to mayor level, health centers to hospitals, Mr. Heru checked directly and also had audiences with residents. As a leader, he has played a role well," he stated.
