Junaedi: Food Supply for Seribu Islands During Ramadan is Sufficient

Seribu Islands Regent, Junaedi ensures the availability and food supply of residents in his area during Ramadan until Idul Fitri is met.

Food supply for Seribu Islands residents are met

According to him, the current supply of quality food supply for Seribu Islands residents is in stable condition, including food prices. In fulfilling this supply, he synergizes with Perumda Pasar Jaya and Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security Agency (KPKP).

"Food supply for Seribu Islands residents are met. Because it has become a routine carried out by Perumda Pasar Jaya through food outlets in six urban villages," he expressed, Monday (4/3).

Prices of Staples in Pademangan Timur Market Gradually Decline

He explained it was because each urban village in his area had one food outlet. Even, on Tidung Kecil Island, South Seribu Islands, there is Jakgrosir, which is a food service center for traders.

"Residents can come directly to the nearest food outlet in each urban village. Meanwhile, traders who want to meet the needs of their stalls can shop directly on Tidung Kecil Island," he explained.

According to him, if there is an incomplete food need, the islanders are also used to shopping to the nearest mainland in Tangerang via Rawa Saban, Tanjung Pasir, and Teluk Naga.

"Crossing overland has also become a routine for the islanders. Jakarta Provincial Government has also provided a cheap food program. It is very useful for residents," he stressed.

Not long ago, there was a problem with a basic need delivery ship that sank due to unfavorable weather conditions. As a result, the supply of people's basic needs is delayed. However, this condition did not last long, as Perumda Pasar Jaya and the Jakarta KPKP Agency immediately moved quickly to resubmit.

"No one knows the weather conditions on the island. I suggest that the KPKP Agency and Perumda Pasar Jaya use better boats to deliver food supplies, thus similar incidents do not happen again," he stated.
