The Jakarta Squash Provincial Management (Pengprov) is targeting two gold medals at the National Sports Week (PON) XXI which will take place in Aceh and North Sumatra in 2024.

Jakarta Pengprov Squash Chairperson, Amalia Chrisna Damayanti said various careful and measurable preparations were made to achieve the two gold medals.

"We're optimizing the development of athletes through Pelatda, tryouts, and tournaments abroad to the training center," she expressed, Tuesday (4/11) night.

He explained the Jakarta Pengprov Squash is also optimizing supporting facilities and infrastructure, including building squash courts that can be used by the public and athletes.

"This good facility is also very important to support the achievements of the Jakarta Squash athletes. Thank God, we already have four international standard squash courts," she explained, who was re-elected by acclamation as Chairperson of Jakarta Pengprov Squash on March 11, 2023.

She assessed that West Java Province would be the main competitor in winning medals at the PON XXI event.

"We remain optimistic that we can achieve the best results from the six categories being contested," she explained.

She hoped that Jakarta Provincial Government and private sector could pay more attention to the Squash sport.

"We want athletes to focus more on training and competing to achieve the best performance," she stated.
